Final Fantasy XII
Penelo's Theme

______________________________________

''Warning, contains information about Penelo''

Growing up in Rabanastre, Penelo and her family lived happily for some time. Five years ago, a plague hit Rabanastre killing many people, but Penelo's family survived. Vaan's family was not as lucky, with both his parents dying. Penelo's parents decided they would care for both the orphaned Vaan and Reks.

Three years later, the war between Dalmasca and Archadia began. During the conflict, both of Penelo's parents were killed as well as Vaan's brother Reks. Penelo was taken in by her parent's friend, the Bangaa Migelo, who let her and Vaan work at his sundry shop, doing various odd-jobs.

Vaan and Penelo are childhood friends. Although they're both close, they never pursued romance. Penelo is frustrated of Vaan's obsession with becoming a Sky Pirate, and frequently tries to dissuade him from getting into trouble. Penelo is seen right at the beginning of the game, lecturing Vaan about trying to steal from Archadian soldiers. Later on, Penelo meets up with Vaan at the Giza Plains nomad camp, when Vaan was trying to obtain a few sunstones. She accompanied Vaan and later admitting that she enjoyed their time together at the plains. When she heard that there were intruders caught trespassing the palace grounds, she rushed to the site, knowing full well that Vaan had planned to sneak into the palace. She meets up with Balthier at this point, where the sky pirate assures her that Vaan will be safe.

Unknowingly, their first meeting was seen by the headhunter gang led by Ba'Gamnan. They assumed that Penelo knew Balthier personally and kidnapped her, leaving a note for Balthier to meet with them at the Lhusu Mines in Bhujerba if he wanted to save her. Penelo was abandoned when Balthier showed up, and she made her escape, only to be caught by Archadian soldiers. She was brought to Judge Ghis, where she meets up with Larsa Ferrinas Solidor. The two became friends quickly, although Penelo was reluctant to trust Larsa, since he is brother to Vayne Carudas Solidor. However, Larsa explained how the men of his family are taught to put the needs of others first, and trusted Penelo enough to lend her some manufacted Nethicite.

She later reunited with Vaan onboard the Dreadnought Leviathan. The nethicite Larsa gave helped protect them from Judge Ghis' magick. She later escaped with the band of sky pirates and asked that Vaan let her follow through their journey. Along their quest, Penelo and Vaan exchanged knowledge about the world of Ivalice with the rest of the party. After they defeated Vayne Carudas Solidor, she took on new clothes and joined Vaan, now a sky pirate with his own airship, as his partner.

  • She is fucking useless.

  • @TheFinal360 I not very interested in FF13, cuz it does not exactly looks "fantasy" to me, the thing that I like most about FF is the summons, but FF13 somehow makes me feels like it is a total rip off from transformers...

  • i give her a 7 out of 10 on cuteness

  • Final Fantasy is magic. If every game was the same we would not appreciate the characters, the story and the depth. I'm an old fan and so grateful each game is different: so I can cherish all of my old and new experiences -3

  • @TheFinal360 sorry mate 13 had only 1 thing for me. graphics ..10 wins all the way for me dude

  • @Reydriel im sorry but that is such a bullshit reason, 13 wasnt the FF you loved, its just a name, it should nto effect your view ont he overall product, i mean what wasnt ther,e towns? world map? cant freely explore? oh god its not like FF tactics didnt have any of those unless you count the menu they give you as a town which if you do your lying,

and while i personally played 13-2 and think its great i still think 13 is better mainly cause 13-2 just kinda kills everyone and is just depressing

  • @jsh020

13 was a good game, but it wasn't the Final Fantasy we know. We expected explorable-worlds, good combat system, and story. FF13 had a very good combat system, story needed a little improvement (characters weren't very memorable), and most of all IT WAS SO LINEAR! (I loved 12 because it had a lot of places you didn't go to when in the mains tory, you ahve to explore a bit :P)

But FF13-2 is looking like it'll fix those problems. AWESOME~!

  • @TheFinal360

    FF13 or 12? I'd rather 12 anyday, 13 just wasn't very FF-ish. Though Im looking forward to FF13-2 :P

  • @TheGuardianCore you speak the truth, the only FF ide say ever was bad was X-2 for obvious reasons, plus when you look at it all teh FF's go a cycle with the hate

when the game come sout there will eb a ridiculous amount of hate borderline all of it hypocritical, after a few years people start giving it a fair chance, cut 6 or 7 years later everyone is jizzing over the game they bashed on

    it happened with FF9

    happened again with X

    happened AGAIN with XI

    happened with XII

    will happen with XIII
