Chris Hedges: African-Americans and The Failure of The White Liberal Class

Pulitzer prize winning journalists, war correspondent and social activists, Chris Hedges, speaks honestly and openly of the socially engineered disenfranchisement, racism and oppression of African Americans, and the betrayal, participation and collective denial of the White religious and political "Liberal" class; and their failure in rectifying this historic and on-going injustice. Chris implies that now the White middle-class families of today, are suffering from these same injustices at the hands of the élites. Hedges claims that it was a fatal decision on their part to side with the elite's at the expense of truth and justice. Yet, if the Whites cannot come to terms with this shameful reality, that they too risk slavery and death. Hedges offers hope and praises the OWS Movement, whom he claims has "picked-up where the Civil Rights Movement has left off."

I (a white male) bear no responsibility for slavery. Nor do modern Germans bear any responsibility for the Holocaust. History is littered with the bodies of the innocent. Reparations made generations after these events reward and punish the wrong parties. What is affirmative action if not the government's attempt to pay reparations? I've had enough of this hand wringing.
