Main Contractor: GRINAKER-LTA
Roof Contractor: Redruth Thatching
The building is still the largest thatch cover in South Africa (6000m²) and took Redruth Thatching only 4 months to complete (woodwork and thatch cover).

@joakerowns I think this is the most 'glam' airport I've ever been in -- to be SO luxe with NO pretense is PURE GLAM.. It's the ONLY airport that TOTALLY remains in my memory; I'll never forget it. Also, S Africa was a British territory. Cape Town is one of the MOST cosmopolitan cities in the world. Sounds like you know painfully little about the continent of Africa. That's too bad -- you are missing out. It is one of the most unilaterally beautiful places on earth. Unique from end to end.

Hi my friend, visit South Africa and see the airports they have there, remember that South Africa was a first world country!!! The airport they are at is a privately owned airport by the Kruger National Park. Show me the airports that your private company have?

i went there with my son in 2008, flew from joberg after watching manchester utd play. Did cape town where we played sunday football in a township, the only whites in a million blacks and we had no problems at all, The airport is fantastic, the kruger is amazing,
we got lost in the desert near sun city at 2.ooam, pitch black, middle of nowhere, shit it, then a black oil tanker driver came out the darkness and showed us the way back to the motorway, brilliant.

Whats wrong with the roof? It looks great!!
You have no idea how cool it is under that roof you don't even need an airconditioner!

@pangandamon OF COURSE I know how cool a thatched roof is :).....if you look thru my vids, you'll see I loooove thatching! Not only is cool and effective -- it's SOOOO in-time and beautiful....and eco-friendly. Yep -- I looooove thatching. In Ireland and other parts of the UK and EU, it's becoming a lost art, unfortunately. But....not in Africa! :) Yay!
