Why is the concept of bisexual women so eagerly accepted, but the concept of bisexual men is not?

Gee maybe it is because so many so called straight men LOVE to see two women together and get turned off by the concept of two men together.

AND

I think some men who are totally 100% gay are turned off by the concept of bisexual men.

What a backwards double standard!

@swopekat Yep that is so true. Some societies view sexuality and the concept of gender and what sex a person can be more openly than others. Those societies that assign roles to people who we normally would think as deviants in our society have less problems in regards to this because they've specifically carved a place for such people. Most of the time, religion also plays a big part though we clearly are seeing the problems with that and development of sexuality.

@XoXoSakuraKissXoXo Honestly. I think it's because essentially our souls or spirits are gender neutral and if you are attracted to someone's soul then it doesn't really matter what gender they are. Though we have preferences I've met people who identified as straight but met people that they would get with of the same sex. Does that make them bisexual? No. If society viewed sexuality in a more fluid state then I think we wouldn't have such a big issue with it.

As to why female same sexuality is objectified and male same sexuality is more of a taboo: The dominant point of perception in our society is through the straight male gaze. Media is dominantly catered towards straight men. Hence what gets them off is seen as acceptable, what they're not into is seen as taboo.

@XxCaseyxCancelxX Being sexually attraced to men and women but only being romantically attracted to women I would call heteroromantic bisexual. :) (I'm a bi girl, I considered myself bicurious when I was figuring out that I liked girls too, but didn't want to use bisexual yet as I was still questioning.)

A much more interesting study could be done by simply searching key words on volunteers internet history and we would know the real percentage of people that are bisexual homosexual and heterosexual.

I'm bisexual and I think everyone have potential to be bisexual as well.
