Yoji Shinkawa Live Art Show

Yoji Shinkawa's Live Art Painting show at Konami HQ in Tokyo Midtown January 2011. Yoji painted a beautiful picture of Big Boss for a small live audience as part of his "The Art of Yoji Shinkawa" exhibit at the Konami Style store. This is just day 1 of an on going painting that will continue until the end of January. It was a fantastic show and amazing to see him paint in person. Video and music by William Greenawalt

@slimhunter89 Don't worry. It was the only public day of the event. He did continue to work on it through January during his work days in the Konami store below the Konami building. I managed to make it out again but there was nothing to see but the painting with more strokes and refinements. They used the finished painting for the cover of the Peace Walker art book though, so you could always pick that up online. It also features photos from the event in the back of the book.

@drwangenstein @drwangenstein About 12. Click the annotation at the beginning of the video to see the full length painting session. It's pretty cool how fast seemingly random strokes soon become the face of Big Boss.

Holy crap. Shinkawa is a genius.

I just love how he can make such a stunning picture with such a sparse amount of free-flowing lines-- and so fast, at that!

He's really an inspiration for aspiring artists. ;v ;
