Sealing a pinhole leak on a deuce primary fuel filter

Used 2 part epoxy. First drianed the filter by opening up the stopcock. Allowed to drain for 12 hours. Sanded down the area around the pinhole with 60 grit sand paper. Went to bare metal. Applied acetone to solvate deisel fuel. Waited 12 more hours, then acetone wiped the surface again. Applied first coat of 2 part epoxy, waited 5 hours to apply second coat. allowed matrix to cure for 15 hours. The epoxy patch held up when the fuel pump was charged and engine started.

Sometimes, I take the harder route. Sort of a curse I guess. LOL. But yeah, I did replace the housing not long after this video was made. The existing one had a lot of bad rust inside of it, hence the pinhole. The fuel tank also has issues with rust. Filters get clogged way too soon and the engine will then stall. So, Im looking at having a custom stainless or aluminum tank made by a welder. I'm not surprised, these old rigs sitting around for years with a steel tank. Bound to rust.

Hi Tim, for a more permanent fix I would replace the housing. You can get one from Saturn surplus for a reasonable cost.

By the way, it is an M35A2 truck. The (A2) being the turbocharged version of the M35. I like how it has been modified. The "bobbed version is a nice idea.
