I have to agree with the poster who said that Patty Duke did a much better job than Melissa Gilbert. I truly do not think that this is a movie that should have been attempted, again. Patty Duke's performance is phenomenal, never to be duplicated, no matter who may try. It is just one of those things that simply can't be improved upon, it is perfect the way it is. In other words,as the adage goes..."if it isn't broke, don't fix it".

every teacher needs to view this movie, it has provided me with inspiration when i have had a bad teaching day. I cried like a baby the first time I saw this movie, teachers will relate best

The second most powerful scene of the movie with the breakfast scene.Extraordinary day and miracle at the pump.Two miracles.Helen's rebirth and coming to light and ann's deliverance too cause she saved helen and received love and cured the little unhappy girl within her.God bless them .

You need to visit Tuscumbia Alabama each Summer when THE MIRACLE WORKER is performed live behind Ivy Green, the home Helen grew up in, The pump is still there and the show is top notch.

No other actress can do this like Patty Duke. Now I hear they're doing another version to be released in April. Can't we leave the classics alone?

This was a simple communications project to show the breakthrough and different sort of interactions that tie into Organizational Behavior within business. The object was to find examples of certain criteria within the forms of communication and relate them in a business sense, if I remember correctly.
