we all must be aware of lightening and its effects when it strikes earth. But how does a lightening arrestor, which is a steel rod prevents lightening striking the earth?

  • @kuckudk Well basically every size conductor will carry lightning to the ground. However, the thinner the conductor, the more likely it will be vaporised during the discharge. If you make it thicker it will decrease that risk, but make it too thick and and it will be very expensive.
