I was lucky enough to see her do it on Broadway, and quite a few other woman. I don't think it's possible for any one Actor to be "better" than another; it's all very subjective. However, on just plain WOW-Factor, Patti Lapone and Flo Lacey REALLY did a dynamic job and got very close to the heart of what drove Eva and Why she was so loved by her people. I still get chills from this clip.

If you watch newsreel clips of the real Eva Peron speaking, you'll see what a powerhouse of a public speaker she was. Patti was spot-on in her interpretation.

I would like to contest...
While Patti does an amazing job, people automatticaly become angry if one actress does not match Patti (almost impossible) However, Eva is such a wonderful part because she is so many things at once. She is a saint to some, a monster to others. While Patti is a wonderful Eva, she is not THE Eva.
Because the characther is so complex, it is hard to judge who is right for the part, because no one really knew the real Eva Peron.
