people don't realize tesla was aimed at the lotus elise. and the fisker is aimed at the mercedes benz CLS class. its designed to be more of a luxury car, and add in a little exotic feeling but have hybrid status. not a sportscar which the tesla wants. the two cars aren't even designed to compete so i dont know why everyone compares them. its like comparing a landrover disco to a porsche 911.

I don't get the appeal looks-wise of the karma...I still think it's incredibly ugly in the front

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think the Karma is beautiful at some angles and very beautiful in the inside. However, The Model S is a much more cohesive design and doesn't have a stupid mustached grin or really small door handles or look sad from the rear. Thus, I think that the Model S is more beautiful design. There is nothing to dislike. It's not as radical (original) a design as the Karma, but it is to me a more desirable car. I want/eventually need a Tesla.
