To celebrate the legalization of gay marriage in the state of New York I've made a little video about the history of the civil rights struggle in the US.
It's just a quick look at all the things that have changed for the good over the last 150 years.
I wanted to thank the New York senate for being brave enough to vote for freedom, in spite of the propaganda from the religious right. This result made me feel a little more optimistic about the future. At the very least it shows that raising our voices matters.

Music: Bruce Springsteen & the E-street Band: "This land is your land"(Live version)

In memory of Clarence Clemmons, who passed away at June 18th of this year. Rock music has lost its greatest sax player.

Unfortunately the dark powers of copyright didn't care about my worthy intentions, and blocked my video in the greater part of the world, because of the Springsteen-track.
Yeah, I could still show it in Burkina Faso and Kirchizistan, but I've made the vid mostly for North-America and Europe.
And all those countries were blocked.

That left me little choice but to Audio-swap. I've done it before, and was fairly satisfied with the result. But up to this recording, I only swapped classical music.
I love Vivaldi and Bach, but it's just not right for this video.

This time I tried rock, blues and country/folk. OMG! It was awful!

I did manage to find a fairly decent cover of Leonard Cohen's "Bird on a Wire". Not a great cover, but acceptable, and the song is good, with lyrics fitting this video.
Alas, after trying to swap three times and getting unexplained error-notices and totally different songs, I gave up on that track.
Finally I settled for an instrumental version of the evergreen "More than Words" in a version of "The North-Atlantic Philharmonic". Not what I would have chosen, but not that bad either.

Time to start making my own sound-tracks, that's one thing I know for sure. I've totally had it with AudioSwap. Useful for the classical stuff, but that's about it.
