Meet Pistol Pete, the cutest dog in the west!

This cutie was surrendered when his family lost their home. He's confused and as a result is a little shy. He needs a family who can love him and help him build up his confidence. He's smart and already knows "sit", "down", and "fetch". If he's shy and already knows these tricks, just imagine what he could learn in a loving home!

We believe that Pistol Pete is an Australian Kelpie mix based on his size (about 21" tall at the shoulder), his shape (erect ears, long tail with feathering on the bottom), stance (he balances equally on all four feet and always appears ready to go), markings (white blaze on his chest, white toes), and his alert behavior (Kelpies were bred to herd sheep).

This sweet boy is almost two years old, black with white markings, and intact.

This wonderful pet and many others are available for adoption at the Riverton Animal Shelter. The shelter is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday (closed state and federal holidays). Adoption fees are $25. Assistance may be available to meet city spay/neuter requirements. The shelter makes every effort to provide for each animal the following: deworming, first standard vaccination package, microchipping, and first health exam. Some animals may already be spayed or neutered. Please call the Animal Outreach Officer for more information.
