My father both finger picked and claw-hammered. His claw hammer style was different, as he pulled up over the top string with his thumb instead of striking downward. It was beautiful to watch and wonderful to listen to. This version is good for the banjo picking, that's for sure. As a singer, he lacks that haunting quality that mountain folks seem to have built in.
This is great!

I know different lyrics to this song but this is a great version. His music is incredible.
