  • IT SEEMS THAT YOU ARE AN EXPERT SO PLEASE SOLVE MY PROBLEM MY PROBLEM IS THAT I HAD 1 TB SATA HARD DRIVE WHICH HAS USING IN MY COMPUTER BUT TODAY I BOUGHT 2TB SATA HARD DRIVE WHICH IS OF COURSE EMPTY I WANNA USE THIS HARD DRIVE AS PRIMARY IS THIS POSSIBLE

    I HAVE 4 GB RAM DDR2

    QUAD8400 PROCESSOR

    INTEL MOTHERBOARD DG41RQ

    PLZ HELP ME

I WANT TO USE 3TB HARDDRIVE IN MY COMPUTER

  • @nitin1123d12 Yes it is possible to use a 2TB drive as your primary drive. You would need to install the operating system on the drive though. What I would do is take out your 1TB drive and install the 2TB in it's place. Then install the OS on the new drive and put the 1TB drive back in as a secondary. However, it is normally recommended to keep your biggest drive as a secondary drive (with your files separate from the OS).

  • FOR WHAT? you can but 1 TR hard drive and 1 SSD with 120 giga for gaming..

stupid waste of resources and space..

even for a server that so stupid idea..

  • @VoLtrex31 Why would I buy a 1TB hdd and a 120GB SSD when I already had the drive I wanted? The point was to show that an IDE-to-USB cable can be used to add a 5th HDD, I don't understand your beef.

  • @sunhouse76 Since I've been getting some attention on this video, I just uploaded a quick shot of my current setup that I'm working on if you're interested.

  • In this video I show how I have multiple hdds setup in a desktop machine which I use as a home media server. How this works is I share all of the drives on the network with a username and password, then any other computer on the network can watch all of the movies and tv shows by streaming it from the server.

Yeah I've taken plenty of external drives out and used them as internal. Normally you can just unscew the case and pull it out. Just be careful and know if it's an IDE or SATA before hand.

  • The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus, good choice.

  • USB? ohh gawd... you're better off purchasing a PCI card that has an IDE controller on the board..

  • thanks dude

  • The first computer you show looks like the same Gateway BTX model I have. It really does suck for upgrade-ability. Lol.

  • @ocdpfsas Why spend so much case space and PSU resources , not talking about the CPU pressure to maintain 5 hard drives with 200giga each.. easier, cheaper and more effective would be to buy 1tb hard drive and SSD drive for windows.. My beef is that there is no point in 5 HDDs.. it is actually your choice but a very stupid one.. and to buy 1tr HDD is very cheap now so there is no much effort getting one..

Maybe i misunderstanding something but this is the main idea.
