although we do get the vw v8tdi which has over 300bhp from a 4 litre diesel as standard.
I drive an old mechanical diesel with only 60bhp standard, but my dad drives a 140bhp 2.0 diesel, u can get nearly 200 bhp chipped only and over 300 with work!
yes I know; btw a dyno loads the engine to ascertain bhp otherwise engine would just hit governor, BRAKE horsepower is calculated thus- torque x rpm divided by constant. I am a diesel fan, I hate petrol engines, Im just saying that the methanol monsters push out more bhp.
I think the 1000bhp cummins use more than just fuel, could be wrong but the cummins rail dragster uses NOS also and gets around 1000bhp, I know powerstrokes get the 1000. btw I live in UK so we dont get decent big diesels.
how do u figure obviously ur not famililar with diesel power there ar 1000hp fuel only 5.9 cummins and thats on a dyno that doesent even load the engine very much face it gas is a waste of time
true, but the meaty spark ignistion monsters have power and torque and although at higher rpm is geared down so equals even more at wheels, although with a good truck engine u could get pretty close, like a big rig racing engine with nitrous added maybe?!
k it might not have the horse power but its got the turque and movin lots of weight requires what? oh right torque yea horsepower really doesnt do a whole hell of a lot its just the line where torque decreases and ur left with nothing but rotatin mass propeling u
Thats true, I read the specs. It needs a DT466. 6BTs can make big power but you still only have 359c.i. You could have a 1,000hp 466 and it would last many years.
that pulled like there was a little red wagon hooked to her

There's no weight on that sled. It's completely flat.

I like it, but its not quite the monster that the monster trucks can be with 1500+bhp.
