  • I've listened to this stuff ever since it was a kid, but I had to do a double take at 58:05 'cause he looks similar to Barack Obama...

  • Wonderful. If the violinist had only been wearing a "God Save the Queen", Sex Pistol's design teashirt instead of that dress, I think I could die in peace today !

  • @zeppelinman71 I worked on this production, and it definitely is Ravel's orchestration. I think the conductor may have omitted one of the "promenade" interludes, but other than that it is true to the orchestration. Of course, the actual piece doesn't start until about 52 minutes in.

  • Someone correct me if I'm wrong...but I don't think this is Ravel's version of orchestration...it's somebody else's. Not saying it isn't good.

  • Mussorgsky's A Medieval Castle at 57:48 is brilliantly moving performance.
