"Wind Up" is the final track on Jethro Tull's 1971 album, 'Aqualung." The "All Music Guide to Rock" specifically refers to "Wind Up"and its examination of religion and God as separate entities when it notes that the album "probably got lots of teenagers wrestling with these ideas for the first time in their lives." The book goes on to call Aqualung "one of the most cerebral albums ever to reach millions of rock listeners."

Great song! That's all that matters.

As mentioned in the vid description; "Wind Up" (and also "My God") had a huge impact on me as a 16yr. old lad, when Aqualung was first released. I had always equated "religion" and God as one entity; and consequently, the utter hypocrisy of organized religion left a very foul taste in my mouth. After hearing Ian's interpretations of man-made religion vs.God; it opened up a whole new perspective for me as to what "God" might actually mean to me, personally; without the restriction of religion.

I know it's the last thing you want to be thought of, but truth be told, you're just another religious/church person Madonna (no wonder you say fuck the truth). Exactly like the Baptists and Catholics and such that you despise. Just like them you think your fellow human beings who are hurting in a place like Malawi are people in need of your love. Conversely your fellow human beings and countrymen who are hurting in the USA get a very Marie Antoinette type "Let them eat cake!" attitude from you.

And before you ask Madonna, no God doesn't mind that I'm gay....

Your problem Mija isn't with God. Like the song, your problem is with the people who claim to be God's representitives. Ever seen George Harrison's movie "Time Bandits"? The flik does a great job of explaining that "free will" is why the Almighty rarely intervenes in human affairs....
