"DON'T SAY GOODNIGHT" The Valentines, one of my favorite groups and top five favorite doo-wop song of all time. I dedicate this song to LINDEN NEW JERSY HIGH SCHOOL, class of 1960. Doo-Wops Are Forever just like my friends from school..........my fondest regards to my never forgotten classmates, Sam Stray.

  • So Beautiful! Love it!!

  • @GNRSlashLover ...Thank you kindly....love that song HEY PAULA!

  • @SAMSTRAY You're welcome. The Valentines are also my favorite group.

  • @GNRSlashLover ...the very first song I ever sang with Linden's own Cuff-Links was Lilly Maybelle originally recorded by The Valentines a great classic group!

  • The Five Stars were really nice fellas, looking back I now say to myself Sammy you should have hooked up with them. I don't think they got to record. I was singing with The Uniques at the time. Linden was a great city a lot was happening. I vaguely remember Premium but hung out at G&S studios on Elizbeth Ave near Wood Ave. Not far from the Plaza restaurant. I still have friends living in Linden and enjoy visiting them. So many good memories. It's nice to hear from you and a Merry Christmas.

  • @SAMSTRAY I love Richard Barrett. I have a lot of his songs. Man, I wish I were alive in those times. Beautiful music!

  • Interesting look at Linden. I live relatively close to Linden, and pass through often. Linden is probably nothing like it used to be. It was probably a cool place to grow up.. You got a taste of city life and suburban life all at the same time. Do you remember anything about The Premium label, which was headquartered in Linden? I've found a few other Linden labels as well.

Did The Five Stars ever do a record? I know of The Five Stars on Note, but they're a mid western group.

  • I never liked A Cappella till I heard this beautiful song, nice job.
