@jayjayevy actually, theyre perfectly legal to buy, install and drive around with, but if you use them on public roads or to impersonate an officer or emergency vehicle, then your probably going to end up with jail time or a minimum fine of I think 5000 USD.

@peuterschmidt no they aren't "illegal" they are only illegal if you use them on the road (public road) anyone can buy them with or without a permit..but like you said they ARE illegal to use on the road/h-way unless you are going to a fire or possibly a med emergency or you're a peace officer on his/her way to a call
