Mate, its easily possible. I drive 1500km's once a year to QLD in my XR6 Turbo, and 6 hours is really nothing! Trip takes about 14-15 hours and I'd only stop once in between to fill up for petrol, take a piss, grab a pie and on my way again.

Today the sport is so regulated.
The GTHO is fascinating for this very reason; it's from a bygone era where drivers literally risked their lives.
