  • A couple of suggestions: don't touch the paper. In this experiment, it doesn't matter. In other experiments, you may find skin oils on the paper which could confuse the interpretation. Also, cover your beaker with a watch glass. Your Rf values are only valid if the solvent is not evaporating to a large degree from the paper as it rises up the paper. Otherwise, very well presented.
