The relations between the U.S. and Russia could be called 'cold peace'. A mutually beneficial strategy can emerge from consultation between the two sides, said Mark Brzezinski, U.S. foreign policy expert.

  • i agree with azn, starcatcher has a weak argument

  • which entertainers do you speak of? most almost all of them stay there, you could say the same about USA entertainers occasionally leaving, it's meaningless, and of course it's not significant in any case, in fact the greatest figures of the country never left, like Viktor Tsoi if you looked him up, or the many great figures

they took them during 1998, which like I said was during the economic crisis and other reasons were b/c of the chechen war, since then no one from there counts as a refugee

  • also...

    the statistics for japan are

    Population Growth -0.139% (2008 est.)

so it is too losing population, but what does this mean? it means it has a low birth rate and higher death rate, it has nothing to do with migrants, and nothing about the economic status when japan is one of the best economies in the world

  • right.. it's slowly decreasing, what I'm saying is that the country is not losing population due to migrants, but rather due to low birth rates and high death rates, it has nothing to do with migration

  • much cheaper than here in canada and U.S(I am korean born in russia, btw), everything is cheaper there

they're not going anywhere anymore, that figure is because of a low birth rate and high death rate which is meaningless to migration rate, they stabilize this by increased immigration from central asia

    net migration rate : 0.28 migrant(s)/1,000 population (2008 est.)

which would mean more people are going into the country than leaving, go to the country profile of russia on the CWFB to see

  • they're not poor, if you look at cia world fact book, their average income is about $15,000 now, other sources cite thatamount atabout$18,000itgoesup

to compare, brazil is $10,000 south korea is about $24,000, japan $33,000, and USA $45,000

putin was a good leader, he brought stability to a completely unstable country in every aspect, economic, social, etc, during the late 90s, during the economic crisis, they were only making about $3,000 average, so that's a 600% increase (assuming $18,000)

  • Hehe "Cold Peace" I guess that's all we can hope for.

  • he supports bio diesel, which is great. but he has yet to make anything work right

  • bush has not yet impressed me much

  • COLD peace...
