Child actor Dickie Moore is interviewed in 1984 by Sue Simmons at the studios of WNBC TV in New York. Moore had just published a book called, "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" regarding the lives of child actors. Having worked with many people, Moore is perhaps best known for being one of Hal Roach's 'Little Rascals' (a.k.a. 'Our Gang').

  • He played Pinnochio!

  • It's funny. I looked up Dickey Moore because I had just finished watching my favorite film noir Out of the Past, where he plays a deaf/mute. I was wondering if he was really a deaf/mute. I guess this interview answers my question. What a nice man!

  • @MandyRascal thank you every much. god bless you.

  • @ClassicFilmSource1 I don't think he has an e-mail. lol. I got his home address from the website fanmailbiz. All yout gotta do is look type his namein google and add "Fainmailbiz" and you'll be able to find the address where you can send him mail! :)

  • @MandyRascal what is his email? i wanna meet him. hahaha

  • What a sweet man he is. I had written him a letter attached with a photo of him in hopes he would be able to sign it....I received it a week ago, personally inscribed....he kept my letter. I can only hope it made him smile. As we all know, Dickie is one of the last few remaining kids from The Our Gang Comedies....sad to see Jackie has left us. These kids will remain a permanent piece of American History. Loved hearing about his friendship with Stymie....very sweet. We love you, Dickie!!

  • He was married to Jane Powell at this time. He was the original Oliver Twist in the 1935 film. As a young man, he played opposite Jock Mahoney in the Columbia serial, "Cody of the Pony Express."

  • this is by far one of the best interviews of one of the original cast members of the little rascals iv seen on youtube thanks bunches for posting,, wow hes still so recognizable, o i feel so sad for him hearing his story bout his dear friendship with Stymie,, but omg Sue Simmons is as cold as a robot,,, shes so dismissive at some points in this interview, i cant stand her interviewin him,,, i looooove Dickie Moore an the gang they were thee best people on tv to date,, real raw talent, Godbless*)

  • Thanks for posting. This was very interesting. I loved the our gang shorts and remember Dickie well. You can still hear that slight rasp in his voice and recognize his same expressions. Really nice to see him and hear his point of view.

  • I remember Dickie. I thought his character was so cute, intelligent, but with a lot of attitude. For some reason, I detected, even as a kid, that he wasn't especially happy. It is so nice to know that he is still with us.
