A really informative video. I knew the media were tricky beggars but didn't know just how far they went. Also isn't the UK copyright law very convenient for Channel 4? Not allowing you to debunk or critique their documentaries and interviews by slapping a copyright notice for posting exerts from their productions. It's criminal.

I saw a TV interview yesterday where there was a clock in the background. So I had an idea. To stop these edits, have 2 synchronised clocks. One behind both the journalist & subject (interviewee). WITH a Second's hand. That way every time the picture changes, we can see if it is, as they say, IN REAL TIME. The next time I;m interviewed I will insist on 2 CLOCKS.

Channel 4 has a legal responsibility to air controversial and leftwing programs as part of it’s remit. Hopefully the Communications Act (2003) will make it more accountable to the public - so that shit like Lost Civilisation and The Great Rock and Roll Swindle, which also got attention for scientists being miss quoted – won’t be pumped out to an unsuspecting gullible public again. Ironically, the lady interviewing Ben Santer is June Sarpong, who used to work for C4 as well! Don’t tell Ventura

Hancock seems like a douche.

Excellent video. Everybody should know this.

this is why if you didnt see it in person you cant be sure it ever happened or what happened. news lies and people watching it carries the lies to others.
this is why i maybe watch 2hrs a day of tv as THE REAL REPORTING is not on tv . it slants the views toward what they want to show..

I always learn so much from your videos

I always found it odd for clips of news interviews to do a cut to the interviewer. Like "wait...why is the video suddenly going to the other guy, while he isn't talking and just listening?"
Guess this explains a lot...

@potholer54 ..."The person who has been refused permission would need to contact us directly and fully explain his use of the material. ... The fact remains that unless you own the copyright on any video you upload to youtube or anywhere else, you need to obtain permission. Permission has not been sought through the correct channels it would appear in this case."
Did you ask their permission? If so, on what grounds did they refuse?

@potholer54 I loved your video and felt somewhat disturbed that an otherwise reputable company like Channel 4 would block your video - so I complained to them.
I said: "There was NO inference by the (you) that Channel 4 was colluding in this, however Channel 4's decision to ban the use of this clip even for educational purposes, made Channel 4 seem somehow complicit in this deplorable activity."
They replied...
@potholer54: do u think the national geographic or discorvery channel do this? i've come to trust national geographic heavily for new information on everything from history to geology... this would really shake my view on them 2 know they've lied and/or been deceptive...

@cruelbusiness1984 -- They certainly use cutaways, but do they use them to change intent and meaning? I don't get those channels at home, so I haven't looked at them carefully enough to know. But I do get to see them when I stay in hotels, and Discovery has shown some pretty trashy programs, most of which it does not produce itself.
