This is one of Abbot & Costello's lesser known, yet just as hilarious routines, the classic Bagel Street scene—itself adapted from the popular vaudeville routine Slowly I Turned—during which Abbott and Costello attempt to deliver straw hats to the Susquehanna Hat Company, but everyone they meet along the way has a reason for hating that company and each of them destroys a hat until there are none left. This is the version from their film "In Society", and there was a later version done for their television show.

  • I liked all the actors who got upset at the name of Susquehanna. I remember the woman's name is Elvia Allman. She played the forewoman in the candy factory who yelled "Speed it up a little" when Lucy and Ethel were wrapping chocolates.

  • Remember watching this as a kid growing up in the early 70s. Lots of classic TV on then. This is funny shit and timeless. Always funny.

  • @gizmofsu "Joey what the fuck is a Susquehanna."

"You know that old time shitty ass hat company"

"Joey you need to go to a doctor"

  • @SmittyCartoons No, he wasn't famous yet.

  • @dfuge10224 No, Bud and Lou got along well. Did they have arguments? Of course, but they cared about each other to the very end of Lou's life (he died first).

  • I wonder if Luigi was insured after wrecking his shop.

  • How did they get the hat box back? Lou left it there when he ran away from Luigi. Never mind, I guess Eddie picked it up when he caught up with Albert.
