I have been writing a map editor for an adventure game and have been researching terrain rendering techniques. This is a good approach though my only hitch with it is the blending could use more bump detail, there are segments where the alpha maps are too blended. I am aiming to get warcraft 3 world editor like detail using gpu rendering.
