In meandering around YouTube, I came across a number of vid postings people have made about how seat-belt laws are an invasion of privacy, and contrary to freedom, liberty, and the pursuit of ones own happiness. Also, there is a marked general anti-government tone, where people dismiss their part in the political process, choosing instead to point fingers while arm-chair quarterbacking. I see interesting similarities between non-voter excuses and anti-seat belt activist reasoning.

Well, I do not have the ability to read minds. Can you possibly explain to me how a person goes about understanding a person's position on a subject without asking questions and receiving answers to the actual question asked, (if you don't mind)?

  • @ProfessorPEARL

No, you were in the process of constructing a strawman, a good old fashioned "slippery slope" argument. It was (and is) painfully obvious)

  • @SiriusMined

Friend, I posed no argument. I'm asking for your opinion on the legality of heroine.

  • @ProfessorPEARL

Wow, tallk about a "slippery slope" kind of argument. From seat belts straight to heroin, huh?

  • @SiriusMined

Curious. What is your opinion on the legality of heroine?

  • @mrboo18 Funny, I didn't know the exact hue either. Being never scripted, after recording I thought, "great, how do I find this?!", but then shocked when I was able to actually find a structure with that color scheme.

If we substitute "we the people" for the word "government" & take in consideration who actually pays for the outcome of the action, I wager we would arrive (at least) near a similar conclusion concerning our involvement in matters which we pay for.

    Thanks for the comment ^_^

" I do think they should require seat belts "

Why? There is already an incentive to wear one. Why should they require people to do that?

  • Good video! And here's me sitting here thinking, "Anyone intelligent wears their seat belt. I mean, that's such an OBVIOUS and CLEVER way to AVOID serious INJURY in a car accident. How much glue do you have to huff before deciding not to wear your seat belt?"

    Sigh...

  • You know, I always though chartreuse was a shade of pink. I think when I first heard it, it was being used in reference to a girl's pink and green shirt. Huh, learn something new everyday.

As for the seat-belt laws, I'm a bit torn on it. In principal, I don't think the government should have any say on actions that don't directly harm others, but at the same time I do think they should require seat belts and prohibit things like heroin.
