  • Was wondering what your thoughts were on the smashed and broken tombs.. and the concept of selling artefacts. You obviously have a great love and passion for the past... does it worry you that selling artefacts may contribute to tomb looting?

  • Hi- Thanks so much for your note. I think the answer is this: educate. I am very passionate about ancient history and hate seeing it destroyed by looters (ancient or modern). I approve of buying and selling Egyptian artifacts from provenanced collections or museums and not from the black market, and use those artifacts (and personal experiences and videos like this) for education and understanding.

  • my hotel was on the nile i could see the tomb of the nobels from our hotel damn i miss aswan easilly the best place ive ever been to

  • Appreciate that... and as I say.. it is obvious that you have a passion... There are so many artefacts (even in museums.. and 'old collections) that are in reality black market finds, given a look of respectability. Almost impossible to tell. But thinking on it, these places would not have been looted, if there had not been the collector to buy the items?

I am, as you may realise an archaeologist and Middle Eastern one at that. :)

  • Love it! Someone doesn't want to go down the hole and they do it anyway!

  • Love the bats. What a way to see history!

  • Cool stuff! I look forward to seeing more!
