Manga Hair: Shading :D[HD]

how to draw manga boy and shade hair.

when you start drawing you dont HAVE to use guide lines. They help for some people, and so if you're one of those people that want to use them by all means go for it. But i'm kinda lazy so i just start with the eye and add the face. i just eye everything into place.
If i ever use guide lines, the what i do is this. i draw a circle to show to whole head. then, i draw a straight line through the middle of that circle. that line is where the eyes go. then, the bottom half of the face you have to go out of the circle and just make it work... i gues.. idk how how i should explain how to do the bottom half of the face cuz i never use guidelines for that... but the top of the head you just use the circle. REMEMBER that that circle is basically the skull of the head. when you draw the hair, make that it is out side of the circle by a little. with this style of hair, all you do is draw fat strands of hair with VERY thin ones along both sides of that fat one. then you draw another fat one next to it, and sandwich it with another two thin hairs. SHADING: the back of the head at the bottom... that place you have to make it the darkest of all the parts of your hair.
when you shade the bangs, you start at the bottom tip of that strand and flick up along the sides of the hair. the center of the hair you do the same thing but you leave more white. when you do the top, you flick down from there. you can connect some of the lines and leave more white in some places, just to add to the 'realism'. but remember, this white spot is a highlight so you need to imagine a light source coming from one direction.
IMPORTANT TIP: when you draw hair, make sure you ALWAYS use quick fast motions. it gives a livelyness to the drawing and also gives it the nice sharp point at the tips of each strand of hair.

btw u know how i covered the ear in the end? dont do that. i think it made it worse :(
anyways we all make mistakes so just practice! as we all know..

Your shading makes my eyes hurt, the hair is shading from the right to the left, but the eyes are reacting to light from the left side, how the hell does that work?!
