I've done it. I was pleasantly surprised she was shocked at first. She said she thought it would change how she saw me and it didn't. She was a gal from a cafe I go to a lot. I'd been going to that cafe for like 2-3 months before we went on a date tho... but not like we had much more than a little flirting here and there before hand... so best of luck.. She will be more cool with it if you don't approach it like a stigma. just be like, I like you and this is where I'm coming from just be honest.

you'll be good, man. i think it's best to just get it out there on the table at the beginning in a no big deal kind of way. i use the phrasing "i was born transgender which means..." and then i move on to something else. you're right, no sense in wasting time, money and energy if there's no chance of it going anywhere. good luck and enjoy!

Well, I was pre-t so it was kinda obvious to him from an early point. I pass fine but I look way younger than I am! He waited for me to tell him and it took me a whole year. Not the best way to start a relationship but we are still going strong! He confronted me a couple of times, asking why I wouldn't take my shirt off etc. but he was pretty amazing about everything! I would recommend letting someone know earlier though. It'll be better for you as well as her :)
