@floskate Totally agree floskate. I actually miss the days when we had about 3 or 4 different types of music in a programme - it showed versatility. Today the skaters often try to improvise to the boring sections of a piece of music and it gets dull.

@sdcassa Carrie was one of the most beautiful skaters in history. She could always be counted on to deliver a terrific performance. Skating lost out when she retired. Barbi Smith

Carrie was injured and had to withdraw from the 1980 National (Olympic trails) and then she retired afterward.

That's why Lenz finished 3rd at the Nationals behind Fratianne and Allen in 1980, with Zayak 4th. I don't even remember where Rugh placed.
With this said, this is among the very BEST female free skate performances I have ever seen in my entire life. I love everything about her skating--and I am puzzled as to why she retired so soon.

great program. Anyone know why Sandy Lenz got the third Olympic spot over her?

nice work here but the music is soooooooo dated.

@MrDolenz Of course it is but at least the skaters back then were taking risks with their music and mixing it up a bit. Music choices these days are just too dull and 'safe'.
