Porter, 7 years old, is diagnosed with a genetic mitochondrial disorder that has caused mental retardation, cerebral palsy, autism and failure to thrive with a feeding tube. It is a miracle that Porter continues to surpass the doctor's and therapist's expectations and thrive dispite all of his challenges. It's amazing what superior nutrition, prayers, and support can do!
This year Porter joined a basketball program, because he loves the sport so much. At his first practice all of the other children were so sweet with him. They helped him get in line and take his turn trying to shoot a basket that was 8 feet high. He never did make it but had a great time trying!
Our boy who the doctors said wasn't expected live past age 4, weighs in at 32 pounds and has a fear of crowds and new places, has wowed us again on Saturday at his first game. Only two baskets were made in this game. His was one of them!
Nice job!
