So...I started recording this in February of last year...yeah, it's been awhile. I couldn't count the number of computer failures that have happened between now and then, the challenges, the number of times I cried....

Sometime in mid-September of last year, I lost this video. By "lost" I mean that my PC had crashed in the middle of a save and corrupted the Premiere file, so I would have had to start all over again. Did I have the source footage still? Of course, but my naming conventions are terrible, and my file structure? Don't even get me started. Sheesh.

Anyway the new iMac was able to not only save it, but to make it slightly better than it would have been I think, since the exporting engine in Premiere CS4 is far better (and easier) than anything I've worked with.

The bad part of all this is, on the whole I'd say I spent nearly 100 hours to make something that was, ultimately, pretty sub-par. The most important thing is that I learned...Boy, did I learn!

I learned the following:

1. Making copies of myself is not always as easy as I think.

2. Always use a click track.

3. Never sing and play piano at the same time if you intend to multitrack more than three tracks, and even then turn the damn piano down.

4. There is no elegant way to showcase multiple screens, and if you intend to split, don't frame yourself up in the middle. For clarification's sake, I'm talking specifically about working in standard definition, the medium-long shots I used, and the crushing of the couch fellows that occurs late in the video.

5. A computer made by Apple is far superior to anything I've ever built.

6. When you see the words "Corrupted File", there is still a glimmer of hope.

7. Don't attempt anything of this nature ever, ever, ever again. Ever.
