Cory Doctorow will have to be the hero of a Harry Turtledove alternate-history opus before he can really compare himself with George Orwell... but he writes pretty good sf, so let's cut him some slack!

Sorry, but the self-importance of both authors (in this tacky promo video) transcends the lame attempts at post-modern YouTube humor.

Cory Doctorow comparing himself with Orwell (even in an "ironic" manner) is repulsive. Orwell was a visionary and a literary titan...Doctorow writes silly science fiction goo.

It's a shame that this brand of literary hack has risen to the surface of modern literature. God help us all. Charlatans and fakes the both of them!

Amazing! I've already read Little Brother, and (as a 15 year old) I can say that it is amazing and you should go read it now. I'll have to pick up Zoe's Tale when I get a chance :)
