DFB 7158 leads nine loaded USL log wagons along the north wall of the New Lynn rail trench on the last full day of its operation, at 1331hrs, Friday 26th February, 2010.

From Saturday 27th this temporary surface level track will be closed for removal, and trains will begin running through the first of the two new tracks being installed inside the trench, enabling closure of two level crossings by having trains pass beneath the streets instead.

The second track is scheduled to open in May or June, 2010.
