As you can tell from my performance, I am not a professional musician. I play piano as a hobby. But what I wanted to show you here is Miklos Rozsa's archaic sounding Ben Hur Prelude is just as enjoyable with piano as with the full orchestra - well at least to me! There is no "Ben Hur Prelude" piano sheet music anywhere - I had to piece together from 3 different sources to come up with the music I played here.

  • Beautiful!

  • Thanks for your comment. I know a "Rebecca Lee" who is a painter. Are you a painter (artist)?

  • There was a piano folio from this film with the prelude ,you got it all in [ the folio didnt have the parade of the charioteers though ].

  • Yes, I know. The beginning and the ending of what I played here were directly came from that folio. The love theme were quoted from that folio too but I had to transpose it to simulate the sound track.

  • I don't have music for "The Thief of Bagdad" unfortunately. Did you have a chance to see my other videos of "Quo Vadis" and "King of Kings"? And I am practicing "El Cid" and music titled "Beauty and Grace" from the movie "Diane" right now.

  • Just lovely...almost soothing rendition of one of my favourite pieces of film music. Dr. Rozsa would have approved. :)

  • Tripsadelica, Thank you for your kind words.

  • Thank you for posting this, this was simply beautiful. Ben Hur has one of the most amazing scores ever created for the cinema and the Introduction/Title sequence always brings to my ears because of its beauty. Thank you again. ^_^

  • Excellent! Played with passion

  • Hello again Mr. Yamamshu...I am your King of Kings admirer...the angels surely must rejoice when they hear you play your heavenly music, Ben Hur, King of Kings, etc. Thank you for helping us to stay spiritual in a material world.

  • Miklos Rozsa was a Hungarian-born award winning composer and conductor, best known for his numerous film scores. He is considered one of the "founding fathers of film music.

  • And off course mr Yamamshu you can improve your self and who knows...one day you may compose music like the one you play on your piano. I strongly suggest to buy a synthesizer to play orchestral music.

  • And off course Mr Yamashu your music is so amazing that we forget some very small mistakes!

  • Mr Yamamshu, whether professional or not, you are a great piano player! I know that Micklos Rozsa composed the music, but I guess that this unique piano version is yours!

  • I like that Ben Hur Statue in the backdrop. It's like doing the thinker pose while chillin to this epic piano performance.
