Nitro Royale: Heroines Duel [lニトロ＋ロワイヤル] Game Sample - PC/Doujin

Typically called "Nitro+ Royale: Heroines Duel" or just "Nitro Royale", it's a game that combines various characters from Nitro+ games (plus a Type-Moon favorite, Saber, from Fate/Stay) into a fighting game. While it's sometimes not considered a doujin title (it's made by a well-known developer, but was released at Comiket 72), it certainly feels like one... it might look nice in this video, but don't be fooled; many in doujin circles have already branded this game with great titles like "Hot Garbage" and "Sad Broke ****", and it's considered one of the "lesser" PC fighters.

Considering a group with a great budget and talented individuals comprised this, not to mention they knew in advance about many great fighters as some of the devs were huge fans of games like Street Fighter 3, this game has way too many simple mistakes to qualify as a good fighter in my book; it's average (version 1.03a or 1.10 have been improved somewhat, and it does have a good soundtrack) and lacking in features, but that's not even what hurts the game.

The problem is the game controls stiffly, there's no immediate training mode, and the game doesn't really look like it was handled by professionals. The fan-service is evident as well as CGs and "those" sort of extras, but the game is broke as heck and should not be taken seriously. Even in the latest versions, the game is still broken (but much improved with new characters Saber and Dragon... just watch videos of older versions like 1.02 though... you'll laugh your *** off... infinite shuriken combo with Ignis). @Fluffykun08 Maybe, but the visual novel game was made back in the early-mid 2000s. It went under the name "Phantom of Inferno". I honestly don't know much about it though as I don't know a whole lot about Nitro+ or who they are affiliated with.

@Fluffykun08 Nah, it's been out for a little while now; sometime in 2007 is when it surfaced I think, but regardless, longer than I originally thought. They have been working on a Hi-Res arcade remake recently though (shown sometime in 2009), that might be more what you're referring to.

@Vysethedetermined2 hmm... well anytime i have seen this game i have not been interested in it.

It looked like the fighting would blow but i dont know if this is a newer ver of what i have been seeing or what but i don't think any videos of this game "ver" is on youtube.

And i am pretty sure when i seen this game Saber looked normal and her sword was invisible.

@Fluffykun08 Ah. I don't know if there are any other videos of this version (1.10), but they might have added a few more frames of animation over older versions and tweaked some of the characters. Saber is indeed normal; she enters combat in a suit but transforms into her battle gear complete with invisible sword. :)

She's more of a guest character in the game, so they probably thought to disguise her a bit. I believe her and Dragon are new to 1.10, or at least Dragon.

Haha, this game seems dope. Kyo's win pose, Ryu's Joudan and Shoryuken, some fucking robot that looks like it's from NGE, Ryuuko Ranbu, Zanretsu Ken, and that guy with a sword + girl in the backround character is obviously based on Donovan, just five times more annoying because the bitch doesn't shut up. They should play this at EVO or SBO.

Perhaps i should play the vn sometime the anime ruined the series for me.

It was a good series but it had the worst ending in anime history pretty much.

"credits roll" ein is dancing around in the field the main guy is smiling then "boom" off from the distance a sniper...

it's like.. "really?" did you really just do that...
