  • Very nice but you didn't review the most common misconceptions I've endured. One that all meteorologists do the weather one TV and that meteorologists know all about astronomy. I hear that all the time in New England.

  • 04:00 "METEOcre at best" - oh meteorology puns.

  • @bartz824 A forecast 6 hours out is wrong more than 80-90% of the time? I don't think so.

  • Happy National Weatherperson's Day!

  • I'm a meteo major at SUNY Albany and I hear the first misconception all the time along with everyone thinking I'm gonna be on TV. Thanks for making this video!

  • Props to you guys for creating, shooting and editing this video! As a fellow meteorologist, I'm grateful someone used their creativity to take the time to debunk some common myths about forecasters perceived by the public. For the record, one of my met professors at the University of Missouri-Columbia is a Millersville alum...Dr. Pat Market.

  • I have a synoptic final this week and my mind is going crazy with QG omega and QG chi. Great videos guys!

  • These people are nuts. Everyone knows Meteorologists study space stuff like meteors. /sarcasm

  • Senior Met student at FSU! Awesome job guys! I couldn't agree more.

  • You guys are my heroes! Meteorology Majors rule!

  • As a senior meteorology major at Texas A&M I want to say thank you for putting this video up. I've lost count of the number of times that people say our job is to easy and anyone can do it. Y'all did a great job of this video and I'm going to try and get some seniors down here to make one similar on how a weather forecast is put together for a severe storm event. Perhaps we can work together on this?

  • Gee thanks captain obvious for pointing out that computer technology 20-30 years ago is sub-par to what it is now. DUUUUH. Even a forecast 6 hours out is wrong more than 80-90% of the time. And flipping channels from one news station to the next you get a different forecast with each one. I've witnessed a forecast for snowfall amounts change by the hour starting at 12-16 inches 12 hours out and ending at 3-5 a couple hours before the "blizzard" was to hit. Actual snowfall, 1-2 inches. What BS
