Massapequa, New York (CNN) — Doreen and Victor Ciappa thought they got a second chance when their 18-year-old daughter, Natalie, survived a heroin overdose last May.

Her mother recalled how, after the overdose, Natalie promised to stop using, insisting she didnt need rehab.
She said oh no, Im not going. Ill get myself off it, Doreen said.

......

Now she's dead.

  • a bag in my town is 8 bucks and a gram of weed is 10 WTF

  • Since docs don't prescribe OxyContin as much---they switch to H, because it's cheaper and easier to obtain. I guess the Mexican cartels know this, too.

    Sad.

  • HAhahaha dumb-asses. Fuckin love heroin, I aint quittin till i die.

  • @E2ekiel555 Im going to kick tomorrow were my favorite words till tomorrow came and I was sick as hell, now im stuck on the worst drug ever made...Methadone

  • @undeadpresident and Ultram and xanax or valium.

  • @E2ekiel555 the only reason i agree with you is because i'm educated on heroin and addiction. these parents obviously aren't and that can be a problem in itself.

  • @undeadpresident you can also thank the fda for allowing oxycontin to be put on the market and be so freely prescribed. i can't tell you how many people i know that are struggling with heroin addiction now.

  • that's really unfortunate about that young girl. heroin is definitely the drug of choice around connecticut and it all started with the oxycontin epidemic. 5 dollars in Hartford will get you one of those wax envelopes of heroin and the user never knows what to expect as far as potency is concerned. I believe recovery isn't for everyone. and with spikes in purity, that makes the use of this drug very dangerous.

  • @insaned12 You can thank the US led invasion of Afghanistan. The Taliban nearly eradicated opium growing there, now its the number 1 cash crop. I've heard that the CIA is selling it as well, just like with cocaine and the contras. You might want to read Dark Alliance.......

  • @undeadpresident DXM is one of the best ways to combat withdrawals . totally agree
