For a message titled "I Heart Guitar Solos" we did a Guitar Hero song mash up and had someone perform live to the prerecorded video.

Thank you all for your positive comments ;-). Please realize that this is just 3 minutes out of an entire service. The service was about worship and we were simply creating a contrast to the topics we were discussing.

So you assume that this church is not doing that? I didn't think there was one specific method to teach and equip to serve Christ. If I am not mistaken, the book of Psalms speaks about singing to the Lord a new song and dancing a new dance. Just because this isn't the method you practice or prefer, doesn't mean this church isn't doing what God calls us to do.

@godzsun Look bro... unless you are living inside someone's head, you can't tell me what inspires a song they wrote. Are you saying a classic rock song like "Sweet Child of Mine" was inspired by Satan? Doubt it. You see a rocker with piercings, long hair, and tattoos and decide their music does not honor God. You should open your eyes and realize that the world is not shades of gray. It is a beautiful place made of all different colors, all different music, and all different ways to honor God.

The same way Chris Tomlin's songs are inspired by Holy Spirit is the same way that Satan inspires certain music as well... @godzsun I can't sit silently and read your ramblings anymore when you are so misguided. First you speak of "our brothers and sisters in Christ" and that would include everyone, the saved and the unsaved, the "enemy" as you like to call them. These people who are not saved are not the enemy. They are real people who in fact need the love that only God can give them. Every person you meet, you should treat them kindly, not like "the enemy" because you may be the only Jesus they ever know.

I agree with Worship Video. I think the spirit of religion is ruining churches today.. but this is foolishness. The spirit of reverence is missing in today's church. There's nothing wrong with having fun in church, and laughing, joking and sometimes deviating from traditional means of worship, but to bring this music into the church....WOW. He was mingling with "sinners" (people), not yoking himself with "sin". The rock genre is fine and blameless if it glorifies God... what this performance did not do was glorify God... it was used as a forum for the gentleman playing the guitar to perform and make everyone laugh. Next time glorify God and make people laugh because God has given us the ability, the platform and the right to do so ALL THE TIME.

we can have fun and entertain without using music inspired by the enemy to do so..especially in the house of God. This is irreverant in my meager opinion. I listen to gospel hip hop, gospel reggae, gospel jazz, and gospel rock, worship etc. so its not a religious spirit that is behind my comments. All I am saying is tha we need to get away from using the things that satan births into society in order to entertain people at church. Church is not about entertaining it's about God!
