maudlin of the Well was an avant-garde progressive metal band from Boston. They released three full length records before changing their name to Kayo Dot. More of a musical project than a solid band, motW used to practice the art of lucid dreaming when it came to composition. Several of their pieces were said to have been brought directly back to Earth from the astral plane. Their music never seemed to have a solid direction but always ended up hitting its mark as showcased in this song from their brilliant album Bath.

The only time I have ever seen someone talk about genres and type something like that, is when complaining about others talking about genres. Besides, it's just a sign of the diversity of Metal. I don't see anything to get annoyed over.

@dreamorigami No offense meant but when I hear all those fancy words and such about genres it reminds how much I hate genres and how pretentious it sounds.
