Australasian Gannet feeding chick (Muriwai)

Taken on April 28, 2009, from the Northern platform at Muriwai (New Zealand). There were hardly any gannets left at the time, two weeks later they had all gone. The clip shows the typical begging and feeding behaviour, although I have my doubts that much food was exchanged.

(Comment at July 6: gannets are back in small numbers, establishing territory; about 30 birds on Motutara Island and the Southern point, none on the Northern point.)
