Octagon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dq5VgM1KaKU

This video demonstrates how to fold the origami model "Blütenkreisel" that Carmen Sprung designed. Carmen kindly gave me permission to make this video accessible to you. Note that you have to start with an octagon, rather than a square piece of paper.

Diagrams for this model can be found on Carmen's website http://www.origamiseiten.de/

  • how to you make an octagon

  • This video is a video response to a tutorial on how to make an octagon.

  • how tall is each side?

  • I think I started with a hexagon that I had cut from a 20cm x 20cm sheet of paper.

  • @elboberto7 youtube.com/watch?v=Dq5VgM1KaKU&list=PL94693060C1C11443&index=5

  • To make an equalateral octagon make a square base and crease the raw edges with 22.5 degree angles on the bottom then cut. I wish I could explain it better but it's hard to describe.

  • i can't make the middle pretty can u show the last again?

  • Thankyou i didn't noe how to do it even with the pdf

  • your awesome! i made it =).

  • what do you mean with "hexagon" at 3:20 ? :P

  • @joetheheadcrab I really don't know whether there are instructions close to Chris Palmer's flower tower but - hey, there are instructions for the flower tower. :) (For sale, not for free.) I don't think folding several layers of this model will give you the same result, I fear.

  • @AdamsSara are these the closest free instruction's to a model close to chris palmer's flower tower? 2nd question if you repeat these iterations on a large peice of paper do you think you can make a 12 fold flower tower?

  • @AdamsSara It's not a hexagon, it's an octagon.

I actually noticed that in some places, you say hexagon instead of octagon :P
