Among the better documentaries i've seen about a classical musician- skillfully woven together,and not blindly sycophantic.

Considerably less good is 'Karajan: a Profile' or even the two recent ones on Carlos Kleiber.

This i believe that Karajan was a Mozart, Beethoven incarnating into 19 century to correct and polish music as it was first written. For musicians to hate him should not even consider themselves artists, but instruments. Musicians create with the use of their instruments not the instrument creating music. It will always be the musician using its tools to create the ultimate, whether it is a voice, strings, drum, flute and or a baton. Create!
