Hello, on this Friday, September 21, 2007. I'm Rebecca Field in for Kristin Volk today with a UPI top News update.
Bush is condemning an ad mocking General Petraeus. The ad created by the liberal anti-war group moveon.org, criticizes the U.S. commander in Iraq referring to him as General Betray us. Bush called it "disgusting" and expressed disappointment in Democratic leaders for not speaking out about the ad. Moveon's executive director then fired back at Bush saying he thinks its disgusting the president is focusing on political attacks and not on bringing troops home.
Delaware State University is on lockdown today after a shooting took place on campus. Authorities say two students...a male and a female, were shot around 1am this morning and have been taken to the hospital. The male student is apparently in stable condition but the female's injuries are considered serious. The Police are now searching for a single male suspect. Classes are canceled today and students, faculty and staff are advised to stay indoors.
Today Lebanon is remembering an honored leader. Thousands of people crowded the streets in Beirut earlier today to honor Antoine Ghanem. The parliamentarian, known for his anti-Syrian stance was killed Wednesday along with for others in a car bomb explosion. He's believed to have been the target in the attack. Today's been declared a day of mourning...schools, universities and public offices have been closed.
Tens of thousands of people took the streets in Jena Louisiana yesterday to protest racial bias. The demonstration was in response to the prosecution of 6 African-American teens known as the "Jena Six." Civil rights activists like Rev. Al Sharpton and the Rev. Jesse Jackson helped organize the event. The controversy began last year when racial tensions heated up at Jena high school. The six students were charged with attempted murder after allegedly beating up a white student. One of the six remains behind bars, with a trial set for today. Protesters say the students were unfairly charged.
That's all for now. Go to upi.com for all the day's news and updates. Thanks for watching.

Petraeus will go down in American history as a bigger traitor than Benedict Arnold.

Hey I don't need to do anything - I'm 38 and I don't have to take shit from you or the government.
There's no excuse for violent perpetrators. I don't want to learn your interacial history - I'm white thanks. Maybe black and hispanics should teach racial values at home of other races not just their race and should teach them social values. I have respect for some races just not mexicans or blacks. You have to earn respect!

you need to either start studying about justice, race, history, real stories about real people, or you need to go to jail yourself. You are way out of touch man, reality is nothing like how you see it, nothing like it.

The ad does NOT "mock" him.
I despise Bush; I am horrified that the Senate took the time to make a resolution condemning the MoveOn ad.
