@magua4 so you know what was on his mind when he wrote that? or what he wanted people to believe was on his mind...songwriting is a sport for the pros you know, sometimes at least - and syd barrett was a pro without any doubt, however fucked up he may have been
-
@MoveOverCasanova if you don't think that syd was writing about himself in this song, you're wrong.
-
why the fuck is skrillex on a commercial
-
@normanite I cried at 1:19 it looks like he's about to cry he can't take anymore.

That was so damn beautiful my eyes watered, it looks like david was struggling and holding back tears at some part because he knows this song was syd barretts cry for help, this cover shows a lot of emotions and it really is powerful. Syd was a genius, I don't care what anybody says shine on you, crazy diamond.

I am very happy that Dave and Roger
keep Syd in the band like they do.
-
@Cgrrp Man, your 100% right. And In fact, I think David loved so much syd that even when he sangs his music live, he feels a little sad and happy about remebering old times with the crazy diamond
-
I thought it was'brandish a wand with a feathery tong' - whatever that means....
-
it is not a cry for help, it is a song about a cry for help -- that is the kinda things unmusical people always confuse
-
Grande Gilmour e grandíssimo Syd!

Everybody always insults David because he replaced Syd but he helped Syd out more than any of the other members of the band. I think he felt bad about taking Syd's place even though it wasn't his fault, in fact I don't think it was anybody's fault, things just happened.

Been following Floyd for 40 yrs +, and to be honest, I feel sad at the loss of Syd, but floyd definitely would'nt have been anywhere as good without Dave, the greatest lead guitarist of all time. Others had the same ability perhaps, but none put over the feeling and emotion into their music. Think about it eh?
