El Hotel Francés es un monumento nacional, designado así por el exgobernador del Estado de Jalisco, Flavio Romero de Velasco, en la ceremonia de re-apertura el 31 de julio de 1981.

El más antiguo hotel en la larga historia de Guadalajara, el Francés, fue fundado en 1610 como "El Mesón de San José" para dar albergue por temporadas cortas a comerciantes viajeros.

The Hotel Frances is a national monument, designated as such by the former Governor of the State of Jalisco, Flavio Romero de Velasco, in the re-opening ceremony on July 31, 1981.

The oldest hotel in the long history of Guadalajara, the Francés, was founded in 1610 as "El Mesón de San José" to provide shelter for short to traveling merchants
