Michael Nesmith, former Monkee, produced Elephant Parts in 1981... yes, 28 years ago... It was produced by his own production company using money he got from his mother's invention... Liquid Paper.
Elephant Parts won the first Grammy in the Music Video category.
Later in 1981 a TV series entitled "Popclips" aired on Nickelodeon, and in 1985, Television Parts aired on NBC.
Popclips intended to be expanded into an all music video format, but Michael Nesmith declined the offer. Warner Cable then started work on what was to become MTV.
Thus... without the Monkees and Liquid Paper we would not have had MTV.
The entire video is about an hour long and this is just a minute or so to whet your appetite. The DVDs have been rereleased and are available from www.videoranch.com, Nez's website.
I do believe this was George W. Bush's foreign policy.
