The 409 was a "W" series truck engine. Not designed for performance, it had problems with exhaust gas evacuation. They didn't last long in NHRA as the big Fords and Mopars pushed them the way of the Dinosaur. They were around only a couple of years and they were gone. Oh yeah...I was there.

1961 was last yr for impala w/ post & they were ugly !
1962 NO impala post cars were built except 4 dr sedan
1962 biscayne & belair .. both were available in post models.
1962 belair was available in post, hdtp & bubbletop models
1963 no bubbletop option on any body style !!
AGAIN NOT ALL 1962 CHEVY POST CARS ARE BISCAYNE !!
