Deuteronomy 4:9, Deuteronomy 6:4-7, Psalm 78:3-8

Aidan you're young
But Aidan you're growing fast
Me and your mom
And all the love we have
We can only take you so far
As far as we can
But you'll need something more to guide your heart
As you grow into a man

Let mercy lead
Let love be the strength in your legs
And in every footprint that you leave
There'll be a drop of grace
If we can reach
Beyond the wisdom of this age
Into the foolishness of God
That foolishness will save
Those who believe
Although their foolish hearts may break
They will find peace
And I'll meet you in that place
Where mercy leads

Aidan the day
Aidan the day will come
You'll run the race
That takes us way beyond
All our trials and all our failures
And all the good we dream of
But you can't see yet where it is you're heading
But one day you'll see the face of love

Let mercy lead
Let love be the strength in your legs
And in every footprint that you leave
There'll be a drop of grace
If we can reach
Beyond the wisdom of this age
Into the foolishness of God
That foolishness will save
Those who believe
Although their foolish hearts may break
They will find peace
Where mercy leads

Let mercy lead
Let love be the strength in your legs
And in every footprint that you leave
There'll be a drop of grace
If we can reach
Beyond the wisdom of this age
Into the foolishness of God
That foolishness will save
Those who believe
Although their foolish hearts may break
They will find peace
And I'll meet you in that place
Let mercy lead
Let mercy lead

Let mercy lead
Let love be the strength in your legs
And in every footprint that you leave
There'll be a drop of grace
If we can reach
Beyond the wisdom of this age
Into the foolishness of God
That foolishness will save
Let mercy lead

Let mercy lead
Let love be the strength in your legs
And in every footprint that you leave
There'll be a drop of grace
If we can reach
Beyond the wisdom of this age
Into the foolishness of God
That foolishness will save
Let mercy lead

  • I named my youngest after this song. My husband was in boot camp and we couldn't figure anything out. Then I heard this song. His nam is Aidan Isaiah. And I truly believe he will be a great man of God. Not just because of this song..... but it helps. ;)

  • @carladallen It's only in the kingdom of God that a childless man can give a name to so many kids. :) I've heard Rich talk about another boy named after this song. God bless little Aidan.

  • This song has always reminded me of my nephew, but never more than now. He is growing to be a young man who indeed lets mercy and love guide his actions; not the crowd. I couldn't be more proud.

  • @kelren75 Bless him. May he follow the Lord down (or up) the narrow path.

  • What album is this from?

  • "Brother's Keeper".

  • Thank god for this mans Jesus

  • Whatever we do unto the least of these his brethren we've done it unto him. Whether they be in jail or hungry or naked

  • I have re-dedicated my life to Christ. I love this song as its not only a prayer for my nieces and nephews but for me too as a child of God. Let mecy live. I thank God for his grace and compassion.

  • @carladallen prayer does wonders and God tells us to pray unceasingly. I pray the Holy Spirit work in your family and through your family for His glory :)

  • @carladallen my name is Aiden isaiah to and my parents named me after this song to is that ironic :)

  • @AsTheDeer thank you..... He is an amazing young man. And yes, Rich had an amazing life and left behind an even more awesome testimony. I am so greatful to have grown up in a time when it was the praise and worship music we listen to every day. Miss him greatly but look forward to saying hello one day and meeting the man who made it all happen......JESUS of course! ;)

  • I remember when Rich Mullins played at Calvary Chapel Alq and he played this song. back in 1994/5
